Make Your Mark 10k/5k/1 mile family fun run

Come join us in a race, both competitively and for just for fun, where everything earned will help Make YOUR Mark in missions locally and internationally. This year we will use all proceeds to fund the following missions/outreach efforts:

Make Your Mark in Ethiopia – Reaching at-risk youth and their families, to provide the resources, encouragement and LOVE that will lead them into their full redemptive potential. To empower street and abused children through education, counsel, encouragement and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Using these tools we will prepare children to be adopted locally. Train and equip local families to adopt, as this is what must take place in order to make a drastic impact in the street kid/orphan population.

Slovakia – Facilitating English classes and assisting with a vacation bible school for a small church in Slovakia.

Cups of Cold Water in the Dominican Republic – Minister to under-privileged families by providing food/water, shelter and education in the Dominican Republic.

Domestically

Immediate Response Disaster Relief – Provide feet on the ground to assist disaster recovery efforts.

Locally in the Cascades/Selma Burke areas of Mooresville – Outreach and minister to under-privileged families in the Mooresville area.

Professional timing awards will be given to the top 3 overall finishers male and female in categories, fully supported water/aid stations and race running shirt included in racing registration fee. Deadline 10/1/15 to be guaranteed shirt.

Shirts will not be provided to Fun Run participants due to the low cost registration fee. However, you may purchase shirts the day of the event for $15.00.

Pay it Forward 5k

PIFLogo

We’re excited to announce the second annual Rocky Mount UMC Pay It Forward 5k on November 21, 2015. This is a unique race because after finishing the 5k, each runner will be given a water bottle with CASH inside. Each bottle contains anywhere from $10 to $500! Runners are invited to “pay it forward” by using the cash to donate to a charity or help someone in need. You could use it to help find a cure to a disease, or maybe save Christmas for a boy or girl. We think it’s a great concept that we hope will catch on everywhere!

Last year the event sold out with 600 participants. This year, even though we are increasing the limit on participants to 1,000, we expect the event to sell out again, so be sure and register soon! Registration opens July 1 at 12:00 a.m.

The “Run” portion of this “Run, Ride and Rhythm” event presented by SellState Select is based on the “Tunnel to Towers” theme of the Stephen Siller Foundation honoring fallen fire fighters from 9/11 and our military and first responders who continue to make supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country. In spirit, our run for our First Annual Event is being called “Trump to Tavern” as a one way race originating at Trump National and ending at Shoal’s Grill (our “tavern”). Next year it is our goal to receive the backing of the Stephen Siller Foundation to receive their sponsorship to make this a national event. We are thrilled that for 2014 the 9/11 NEVER FORGET Exhibit and Tribute Trailer which was designed and made by Specialized Mobile Exhibits (SME) of Mooresville will be on display the day of the event.

Pediatric Cancer has affected numerous families in our area. These young heroes have inspired us to ensure a cure is found for all children diagnosed with cancer. One out of every five children diagnosed with cancer dies. To us, that is unacceptable.

The 3rd annual Miles for Marnie saw over 250 participants enjoy a great race. Our goal is 500 participants for our 4th annual race. We welcome your support of our endeavors to find a cure for Pediatric Cancer through research. Please see our sponsorship levels and benefits via the link below.

Did you resolve to save money AND run a 5k in 2014? Now’s your chance to do both at the same time. On January 1, 2014, DART will be sponsoring the third annual Tightwad 5K. The price is — you guessed it, free!

This will be a no-frills event. No road closures, no tents, no commercial sponsors. Just you and 39 running buddies, all competing to be the Numero Uno Tightwad. The race will start at the Davidson Town Green, Concord and Main St., and will follow the Run for Green 5K course.

Best of all, you will get an official result, courtesy of Davidson Timing. Manual timing, not chipped, so be sure to wear your bib number on your front.

The route will be through the neighborhoods and greenways of Davidson. Click here for a map of the course.

We’re limiting the event to 40 entrants, so make sure you sign up fast! If you don’t make the 40-runner cutoff, you’re more than welcome to run as a bandit. After all, it’s free!

Don’t want to run but still want to be part of the fun? How about volunteering? Runners will get no awards, but all volunteers will get their choice of a coffee mug or running socks.

The second of four races in the 2013 Summit Twilight Racing Series, the Summit Solstice 4-mile Obstacle Challenge, June 8, 2013, merges road running and friendly obstacles for this evening of tremendous fun. Pick Your Poison 5K and 10K

Pick Your Poison 5K and 10K, Davidson, NC

June 9, 2012

Click here to view overall results for the Pick Your Poison 5K and 10K!

What’s your ideal race? Is it a super-challenging 10K that starts up a 10% grade, climbs 150 feet, loops back down to the start, and repeats it, three times!?!? Or is it a gorgeous, pancake-flat 5K along a greenway and wide paths, through an idyllic pastoral landscape?

We’ve concocted an event that achieves both ideals. If you’re a glutton for punishment, sign up for the toughest road 10K within 50 miles. If you like your races flat and scenic, you’ll want to run the beautiful 5K course. (If you’re running the ROC series, make sure you sign up for the 5K). Both races are equally beautiful, but one runs up the side of a hill while the other runs through flat meadows.

The Courses
These are two of the most beautiful races you’ll ever run, but while the 10K will be one of the most challenging, the 5K will be one of the most pleasant. The 10K is entirely on paved roads and greenways, while the 5K is half on paved greenways and half on wide, unpaved paths.

10K runners repeat the same quad-burning loop three times, running through the finish line each time. 5K runners run their loop just once.

Joggin for Jugs 5K

Join us for the 3rd Annual Joggin’ for Jugs 5K to fight cancer. As Founder Rhonda White Patel puts it,

Joggin’ for Jugs started in memory of my mother, Sharon C. White. She passed away November 2008 with ovarian cancer at age 52. After standing beside her through her 2 year battle with cancer, I realized the need for additional research. I started Joggin’ for Jugs to help benefit not only breast cancer but also ovarian & prostate cancer.

Through our donations & support of the American Cancer Society, we will find a cure so our children do not have to walk this walk with us.
