Pay it Forward 5k

PIFLogo

We’re excited to announce the second annual Rocky Mount UMC Pay It Forward 5k on November 21, 2015. This is a unique race because after finishing the 5k, each runner will be given a water bottle with CASH inside. Each bottle contains anywhere from $10 to $500! Runners are invited to “pay it forward” by using the cash to donate to a charity or help someone in need. You could use it to help find a cure to a disease, or maybe save Christmas for a boy or girl. We think it’s a great concept that we hope will catch on everywhere!

Last year the event sold out with 600 participants. This year, even though we are increasing the limit on participants to 1,000, we expect the event to sell out again, so be sure and register soon! Registration opens July 1 at 12:00 a.m.

Summit Twilight Racing Series

The Summit Twilight Racing Series returns for the fourth year in 2015. Each of three races starts in Davidson, North Carolina and is followed by a Race Festival featuring live music, food, beer, and more.

This year will once again feature a point competition for all runners all three of the races in 2015.

2015 Calendar:

Series Details

Signing up. Participants in any race in the series are automatically signed up, but you need to complete all three races to qualify for an award.

Awards. We’ll give awards for the overall series champions (first through third place, male and female). In addition, you can win an award for finishing in the top three in your age group (19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+).

How it’s scored. Every participant in any of the races is automatically entered. You can earn up to 100 points per race based on your time; the first-place finisher for each gender gets 100, and the points for other finishers are based on your relative time. So if first place is 20:00 and you finish in 21:00, you get 20 / 21 * 100 points, or 95 points.

You get bonus points for finishing in the awards: 10 for first, 7 for second, and 5 for third overall, and 5 for first, 3 for second, and 1 for third in age group.

We will tally up the points for each race and publish standings by Monday afternoon following each race.

If you notice an error in the standings, you have a week after each event to email us at info@davidsontiming.com to let us know of the problem, and we’ll do everything we can to fix the error.

Series Details

Signing up. Participants in any race in the series are automatically signed up, but you need to complete at least three races to qualify for an award.

You can earn an additional 10 points for completing all races in the series (and in this case, your worst race performance will be dropped).

We will tally up the points for each race and publish standings by Monday afternoon following each race.

If you notice an error in the standings, you have a week after each event to email us at info@davidsontiming.com to let us know of the problem, and we’ll do everything we can to fix the error.

2013 Calendar:

Series Details

Signing up. Participants in any race in the series are automatically signed up, but you need to complete at least three races to qualify for an award.

Awards. We’ll give awards for the overall series champions (first through third place, male and female). In addition, you can win an award for finishing in the top three in your age group (19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50+).
