Trump to Tavern 5k Run/Walk
The “Run” portion of this “Run, Ride and Rhythm” event presented by SellState Select is based on the “Tunnel to Towers” theme of the Stephen Siller Foundation honoring fallen fire fighters from 9/11 and our military and first responders who continue to make supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country. In spirit, our run for our First Annual Event is being called “Trump to Tavern” as a one way race originating at Trump National and ending at Shoal’s Grill (our “tavern”). Next year it is our goal to receive the backing of the Stephen Siller Foundation to receive their sponsorship to make this a national event. We are thrilled that for 2014 the 9/11 NEVER FORGET Exhibit and Tribute Trailer which was designed and made by Specialized Mobile Exhibits (SME) of Mooresville will be on display the day of the event.
Event Day Schedule – Rain or Shine
Saturday, October 25
6:00 am – 7:15 am: Race Day Registration/Check In Opens Shoals Grill, Ace Hardware, Food Lion Center on Brawley School Road – Look for parking signs as you approach Stutts Road. All racers must park in designated lot and take a free shuttle to Trump National for the race start since this is a ONE-WAY race!
6:00 am – 7:30 am: Shuttle service from Registration/Check In. Last shuttle to start line departs Shoals Grill, Ace Hardware, Food Lion Center (Mayhew Promenade). Restrooms and snacks available at Start Line Courtesy of Trump National.
8:00 am: 5K Starts for Runners, delayed start for Walkers; Water station available at approximate 1/2 way point at Lake Norman Volunteer Fire Department
8:00 am – 10:30 am: Complimentary Breakfast Buffet at Shoals Grill for Race Participants (Guests may purchase buffet for a nominal fee.)
10:15 am: Race Awards Announcement and Presentation. Awards will be presented in all major age categories
